Turning the Page to a New Chapter

When I think back on my life, each chapter had its own unique challenges and triumphs. For me, this past year has been a whirlwind of change, marked by the profound loss of my mother - as my husband, sister, and I shouldered the responsibilities of her estate, house, and pets I found myself grappling with grief and questioning my path ahead.

Life often takes unexpected turns, and in the face of immense change, it's easy to resist. However, I've come to realize that some of the best moments in my life have emerged from embracing substantial transformations. As I navigate this journey, I find comfort in the idea that change is not just a challenge; it is an opportunity to grow.

“Change is inevitable. Growth is optional.” John Maxwell

Around this time last year, I stood at a crossroads, unsure of my next steps. The weight of grief and the uncertainty of my future as a store owner loomed over me. Through introspection and soul-searching, I found that the passion I have for my business is profound.  – helping individuals find clothing that resonates with their lives and curating collections that bring joy and do good in the world are the things that I look forward too the most.
The decision to relocate my current storefront is not a retreat; rather, it is a strategic pivot towards creating the boutique I've always envisioned. No longer residing above the shop, my husband and I had to reevaluate what we want our days to look like in this chapter of our lives together as a married couple. Redefining our home has allowed me a fresh perspective on business and personal needs.
There comes a moment in everyone's life when they realize they're no longer getting what they want from their current circumstances. Opening Rushmore in Alton was a pivotal chapter that allowed me to be close to my mom during her illness, live where I work, and become part of a wonderful community that supported me through some pretty crucial times. Now, after having completed my Saturn return and understanding my true calling, it's time for a new chapter.
*Cue the excitement* Life, in its unpredictable beauty, presented me with a store front property in the Central West End of St. Louis that aligned with all my aspirations. Call it manifestation, divine intervention, or sheer serendipity – the stars aligned, and a new opportunity beckoned. I'm taking a leap of faith, bidding farewell to this chapter, and stepping into the promise of my dream boutique.
I acknowledge that not everyone will follow me to this new location, and thats okay. But to everyone who has been a part of my journey in Alton, thank you! Your support has been truly amazing, and this transition is a testament to the growth and evolution that define life's journey.
As I embrace this next chapter, I do so with optimism -  Knowing that the challenges and joys ahead will shape not only my business but my own personal growth. The dream boutique I've always longed for is on the horizon, and I believe that when you're happy, your work reflects it.
Here's to turning the page, to new beginnings, and to the unwritten chapters that await.

Sweet things happen to sweet people like yourself Sydnie. Even though I personally hate not being able to just pop into your boutique as often as I would like, I know that when I do make the trip to your new boutique it will be a sweet adventure that I would not miss. Hope to see you in April if the stars align.
Good luck my friend!
