If you’ve been on the same social media algorithms that I have, you’re probably familiar with 2025 being the Year of the Wood Snake. The Wood Snake brought a lot of change—and in its final form, it’s shedding us into a new Chinese New Year: the Year of the Fire Horse. As one of the horse girlies out there (and a Sagittarius rising), I’m happy to say… bring it on, 2026.
All spirituality aside, as we enter the last month of the Year of the Wood Snake, I found myself gravitating toward earthy colors. I chose styles that make me feel grounded heading into the new year. Browns, greens, and taupes are classics. The silhouettes feel transitional, but the colors stay timeless.
That duality—wanting to feel stable, while also being ready for change—isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary. I love the balance of elevated pieces mixed with hoodies and sweatshirts. Think dress slacks with a hoodie. Love.
One particular sweater made me think of moss, with its pretty green and yellow flecks. Paired with an especially impressive draw-waist denim jacket and a fleece pair of wide-leg pants, it’s exactly what I picture as my last outfit for the Year of the Wood Snake.
